This is the Third Ohio State Wake Up Call presented by the Ohio State Wakeboard Team. It is a grass roots tournament open to all levels of abilities and to all who want to compete.

The things you need to know are

When: May 7th , 2011, registration begins at 7:30AM day of at Ursus located at 2814 Fishinger Road, Upper Arlington, OH 43221(**THIS IS ONLY FOR REGISTRATION. DO NOT PARK AT THIS LOCATION FOR THE EVENT**)
...Where: Scioto River / Griggs Reservoir. Spectators can watch on the east side of the river just north of the Fishinger Rd. bridge.
What: A Wakeboard Tournament with five classes of competition;
Beginner: (no inverts)
Women
Advanced: (1-3 inverts)
Outlaw: (4+ inverts)
Wakeskate
Each class is allowed one wildcard where you can try to go for whatever you want to.

Tenative Schedule of Events for the Day:
7:30am-Registration at Ursus, Announcements
9:00am-Tournament begins with beginner division
9am-??-Tournament will proceed with other divisions (advanced, outlaw, womens, and wakeskate)
4/5pm: Trophies/Results

**These times are subject to change with the amount of riders that compete**

For an additional $20 you can compete in another class. (i.e. a girl could do womens and intermediate or a person could do wakeskate and a wakeboard division but you could not do advanced and beginner)

Exhibition riders by Pro Wakeboarders and Knee Boarders
Hyperlite will be donating a brand new wakeboard to be raffled off

**FREE TO WATCH FOR ALL SPECTATORS SO COME WATCH EVEN IF YOU DON'T COMPETE!**

**THIS EVENT WILL BE HAPPENING REGARDLESS OF WEATHER**

OSU Division II Champions at 2010 Collgiate Nationals in Austin, TX!

Collegiate Nationals was held Oct 14-16th at the Austin Aquaplex. This was the first time since 1981 that The Waterski Team at Ohio State University qualified for nationals, and this year they brought back the Division II title!

The team recorded 19 personal bests in 30 chances; the team skied above and beyond to overcome the University of Texas and 8 other teams.

Notable finishers include:

Kyle Dammeyer - 2nd Place Slalom - 2@38 off

                       - 6th Place Overall 

Ben Van Treese - 2nd Place Jump   - 139 ft

                       - 3rd Place Tricks    - 2040 pts

                       - 2nd Place Overall

Katie Mitchell     - 4th Place Tricks   - 820 pts

                       - 6th Place Overall

Jamie Zeal        - 5th Place Overall

 

In addition Kyle Dammeyer managed to be the 2nd ever Midwest Skier to make the All-American Team by scoring as high as the top 5 skiers in Division 1. The only other skier to do this is Cale Burdick and is truly an awesome achievement.

OSU Waterski Team Conference Champions!

A total of 18 collegiate waterski teams traveled to Pleasant Shores in Van Wert Ohio on September 25th and 26th for The Great Lakes Conference Championships.  The OSU Buckeye ski team pulled the big surprise of the weekend by barely beating the Conference powerhouse, Purdue, by 90 points.  A total of 3 Ohio teams finished in the top eight which will earn them the right to compete in the Regional Championship next weekend in Decatur Illinois.  The top eight teams were:
1st - Ohio State University - 12555 points
2nd - Purdue University - 12465 points
3rd - University of Cincinnati - 11600 points
4th - University of Michigan - 10990 points
5th - Grand Valley St. - 9875 points
6th - Miami of Ohio - 7230 points
7th - Ball State University - 6720 points
8th - Michigan State University - 6675 points
These eight teams will travel to PITS Lake in Decatur Ill on Oct 1st thru the 3rd for the Midwest Collegiate Regionals.  The top 5 teams(potentially a 6th wildcard team) out of the Regionals will advance to the National Championships in Texas.
